The CHS team works hard to ensure that the school plays a positive and beneficial role in the community, not just for our students, but for everyone living in and around Congleton. For more information, see the individual categories in the menu, which is at the bottom of the page if you are viewing this on your phone or to the left if you're using a desktop/laptop or tablet.
We work closely with the local primary schools, including our eight Partner Primaries, sharing our facilities and teaching expertise, enabling the pupils to benefit from a wide range of opportunities and smoothing the transition process for those choosing to join us in Year 7. Over the years, we have developed a highly successful and well regarded Discovery Day transition programme, which ensures that the move from primary to secondary school is as smooth as possible for every student.
Our eight Partner Primary schools are:
We are very proud to be part of the Congleton community and greatly value the links that we have built with businesses across the town. Our strong relationships with the local, national and international companies in Congleton have enabled us to offer students a wide range of education and career opportunities, which in turn, have helped students to leave CHS as well rounded young adults. Over the years, students have been able to take part in factory tours, design competitions, site visits, employment skills workshops, careers fairs, finance presentations, mock interviews, STEM days and more.
Any businesses in Congleton or the surrounding areas who would like to work with us to offer an educational or careers based opportunity, such as a work placement, or would like to find out more about what this would entail, please contact our Careers Lead, Mrs Sanders, by email: jsanders@congletonhigh.com, or call our main school office on: 01260 730123.
As a caring and inclusive community, we encourage our students to consider others and offer help when possible. This could be something as simple as offering to carry shopping or helping a relative or neighbour with tasks around the home.
We also try to support a range of charities throughout the year, with a variety of events, including annual fundraisers such as Children in Need, NSPCC Number Day and Comic/ Sport relief. Our students and staff also work hard to support local charities, such as Congleton Pride, The Storehouse Food Bank and one very close to all our hearts, the Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation, which was set up in memory of a much loved CHS student, who tragically lost her life in June 2020.
